SACRAMENTO, KY (WFIE) – Residents in McLean County looking to buy alcohol will have to continue to drive to surrounding cities.
On Tuesday, Sacramento residents voted 81-34 to keep the city dry.
McLean County Clerk Stacy Patrick considers the turnout “average” and says there weren’t any problems at the polls.
People who are in favor of alcohol sales in Sacramento will have to wait three years if they decide to start another petition for a wet-dry election.
The last wet-dry election held in McLean County was in 1937. At the time, the county was wet and residents voted to make it dry.
