Fight inside Harrisburg bar triggers fatal shooting

A fight inside a corner bar in Harrisburg led to a fatal shooting early Thursday that killed a 44-year-old man, police said. The victim was identified in court records as Derick Garner of Harrisburg.

Garner had been inside the bar when he and Eric A. King got into a physical confrontation, said Police Chief Thomas Carter. During the confrontation, police said, King pulled a gun and shot Garner. There have been at least two previous shootings inside the bar, which was formerly known as the Cloverly Heights bar. A man was shot in the chest in September 2015 and a man was shot in the leg in August 2010.
