The Louisville man charged with driving drunk when he caused a crash that killed a 5-month-old girl and injured her twin sister has been found guilty.
James O’Bannon was driving with a suspended license from a previous DUI arrest when he ran a stop sign in March of 2014, and crashed into a van, killing 5-month old Avani Ingram.
The jury found O’Bannon guilty of murder, assault, tampering with physical evidence and possession of marijuana.
Jury came back just before 6 p.m. to recommend a 25-year sentence for O’Bannon.
It means O’Bannon will have to spend 20 years in prison before he is eligible for parole.
The judge has the final say with sentencing set for Dec. 7.
