New British Study suggests that you will spend about two years of your life hungover

Getting wasted can be a waste of time.

Our friends across the pond have shared some insightful news.

A British study that polled 2,000 people of drinking age – 18 in the U.K. – found that a person will wake up at least once a month feeling hungover.

If you do some further calculating, you’ll realize that those “morning afters” of agony and regret add up to 724 days over the lifespan of an average adult.

That’s two years of your life spent feeling dry as a sponge and recovering from your splitting headache because you stopped counting your cocktails; not to mention the other hideous side effects that come with those “turnt up” nights. In other words, that’s two years of your life, wasted…literally.

The study also found that during the holidays one in 20 people will be hit with a hangover six of more times per month.

There is such a thing as too much holiday cheer apparently.

It’s also worth mentioning that the Global Alcohol Report states, an average U.K. resident consumes about 11.6 liters of pure alcohol per capita, whereas in the U.S. that figure is about 9.2 liters.  Alcohol includes beer, wine and spirits in the report.

A glimmer a hope for Americans: we may not end up quite as hungover as the British. Cheers to that!
