(CBS) — Drinking on the job is forbidden in most workplaces, but some Chicago companies are cool with it and have beers on tap during business hours.
CBS 2’s Audrina Bigos reports.
If Power Reviews looks nothing like where you work, well, that’s probably because it’s nothing like it.
“We’re playing ping pong, and we’ve got couches. It’s a very different kind of office,” says CEO Matt Moog.
Drinking is not just allowed on St. Patrick’s Day. It’s every day.
“The keg? That’s the first thing we show them when they come in,” Moog says.
He’s joking – sort of. There are two kegs of craft beer in the office – 24/7.
“We’re not big on rules, but there’s common sense,” Moog says.
Common sense told Moog if you offer beer in the office, the talent will come and stay.
The company’s supplier, Crafty, supplies the kegs to more than 100 Chicago companies.
“Some have like eight taps,” co-founder Nathan Rosenstock says.
So, just how much of the creative credit goes to the booze? In this office, the motto is “When the taps are flowing, so are the ideas.”
